Joe Sabatino is an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Neurology in the Division of Neuroimmunology and Glial Biology.  He completed his MD and PhD in Immunopathology and Molecular Pathogenesis at Emory Unversity.  After his Neurology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he completed a fellowship in MS/Neuroimmunology in the lab of Scott Zamvil at UCSF.  When not working, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and walking his cat.

Kristen Mittl graduated with a B.S. in Food Science and Nutrition from Florida State University in 2019, where she studied how nutrition impacts health and disease. She joined the Sabatino Lab in early 2021 as a research associate and is working on designing and developing TCRs to investigate antigen specificity in MS models. She is passionate about connecting underserved populations with neurological care. Outside of the lab, she enjoys backpacking and mountain biking around Northern California.

Fumie Hayashi is a postdoctoral fellow in the Sabatino lab in the department of Neurology at UCSF.  She graduated Hokkaido University in Japan where she received MD.  After working several years as a clinician, she completed her PhD in Kyushu University in Japan.  She joined the Sabatino lab in October 2022. When not working, she enjoys traveling, coffee, and loves spending time with her children.
